Silanguin - On a Clear Day

Before the start of the official summer in the Philippines, there is a unique weather phenomenon at Silanguin Cove that makes it an ideal destination for people who are searching for pure oxygen therapy. Amihan or Northeasthern wind starts to come from the mountain side or from the East during the months from December to March. This wind hits the mountain tops, accelerates and creates low pressure and pushes the wind to go down to the shoreline, more like a Venturi effect that makes the beach area very windy during intense Amihan season. The unique mountain pattern helps shape the shoreline and the sandbar of Silanguin beach making the place a constantly evolving terrestrial paradise.

As this wind progresses, it cleanses the sky from the pollution and provides a good unparalleled view of the horizon and night sky. To share to you the experience of some of the guests at El Paradise Silanguin, here are some interesting photo shots from the drone at 450 meters above sea level, taken by Taks, during their stay at El Paradise, Silanguin for two days and captured these dramatic scenes.

Here, you can see our very own Milky Way Galaxy. Using a low light exposure camera, you too, can create this night sky view during the Summer season. Photo courtesy of Taks.
A drone shots of the whole Silanguin cove and nearby natural barriers, Pitas islland and islets. El Paradise Silanguin Resort is right in the lower middle part of the photo. Notice the clear sky that extends to several tens of miles to the West Philippine sea. Silanguin beach is about 1.2Kms long and the cove has a width of 2.5Kms, North to South line. Courtesy of Takoy.
Silanguin cove is located in Barangay Pundakit, San Antonio, Zambales which is on the Western side of Luzon Island. Summer is the best time to visit the cove due to fairly good weather. Visit this place someday and share your own experience.
